regulation take precidence |
The Rally
This event is #2 in the V.I. Championship. It is
organized by the Island Rallysport Club and sanctioned
by Rally Pacific Motorsports as a NON Championship
event under CARS General Competition Rules. For
more information contact the IRC Rally Director,
Glyn Trafford at gtrafford@shaw.ca or (250) 246-8282.
The rally is based on the BC TSD Regulations with
the exception of the sections referring to the BC
Championship requirements. The rally will be broken
into a series of transits (non-timed sections) and
regularities (timed sections), with a number of
these forming a leg, each of which ends with a meal
or gas break, which will not be more than 250 kms
apart. The rally runs on straight forward instructions
which are provided on both kilometers and miles,
but official measurements and calculations are based
on the Km figures. |
The Route
Consists of almost 100% gravel roads for the timed
sections and paved roads for the transits. The route
will be held entirely within Vancouver Island, beginning
in the village of Lake Cowichan, approximately 20
minutes on highway 18 west of Duncan, BC and ends
in Duncan, BC covering approximately 320 kms with
one gas stop. |
Classes
Unlimited – Unlimited equipment.
Equipped – Non-programmable calculating devices
which are not driven by a wheel, and accessory odometers.
SOP – No calculators, rally tables or accessory
odometers. |
Scoring
The scores will be one point per second early or
late, with a maximum of 300 points (5 minutes) at
any one control, but NO maximum accumulated penalties
per regularity. Ties will be broken by greatest
number of zeros, ones, twos, etc. as needed. |
Required Safety Equipment
1 reflective self-supporting warning emergency triangle
(12” sides munimum), basic first aid kit,
and a minimum 5BC fire extinguisher. Open cars require
a roll bar. It is probably a good idea if you bring
a full sized spare tire, not a donut, although we
are not designing this rally as a car breaker by
any means. Also, please bring a flashlight with
fresh batteries. |
Minors
Any entrants (driver or navigator) who are under
the age of majority must sign an additional waiver,
as well as have their legal guardian sign a special
waiver. Any interested minors MUST contact Glyn
Trafford at gtrafford@shaw.ca or (250) 246-8282
for the above forms and further details. |
Awards
Trophies for 1st place driver and navigator ONLY
, as well as dash plaques for all entrants and lots
of good old fashioned rallying fun. |
