2000 Pacific Forest Performance Rally Western Canadian Rally Championship Round 6 September 23, 2000 Cache Creek, BC FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RALLY COMPETITORS HEAD BACK TO CACHE CREEK August 29, 2000 CACHE CREEK, BC - On the weekend of September 23rd the excitement of motor sports returns to the interior of British Columbia as competitors in the Pacific Forest Rally head for the hills. This closed-access, high-speed road rally will be contested by teams from across BC, Alberta and the Pacific Northwest in their specially prepared production-based street vehicles. The Pacific Forest Rally once held a special place in BC's annual rally championship and was held off and on in the 70's and 80's before returning again this year. This major event marks another step forward in the resurgence of rallying on Canada's West Coast and it will be observed for possible inclusion as a round in the Subaru Canadian Rally Championship in 2002. Organizers are certain that the roads in the scenic Arrowstone Hills, east of Cache Creek, will prove to be popular with both drivers and spectators. "The route is sure to test the abilities of the rally teams and their cars as most of the 137 kilometers of special stages feature steep elevation changes," said Rally Master Dennis Wende. However, as past competitor Peter Hill of Calgary puts it, "The roads (are) totally excellent, challenging without being frightening." The Pacific Forest Rally is being hosted by the West Coast Rally Association and generously supported by Nokian Tyres, Specialty Subaru, Western Driver and Wilkinson's Automobilia.
