Important note on safety equipment: The regulations on minimum mandatory first aid equipment have been tightened for 2005. Because our events take place on remote roads, far from medical help, in the unlikely event of an accident involving injury, the first people on the scene will be other competitors, and they will the people best positioned to administer first aid. To that end, where the regulations used to require only a basic first aid kit, contents undefined, RPM has now defined what must be in that kit:
