BMW Seattle Classic Motorcar Rally BMW Seattle Classic Motorcar
Rally Vicki and I spent the weekend completing the
route planning for the November 10th Mini-Rally.
We are pleased with the results. The course
will offer a route of progressive difficulty,
beginning with the usual odo check and an opportunity
to work with straight-forward route instructions.
As the Rally moves forward, we will include
a variety of challenges including traps for the
unwary. We have found some delightful roads with
good speeds and plenty of twisties. A 1-mile
stretch of packed-gravel will be included as a
free-zone. The November colors should be
beautiful in the Fraiser Valley. I hope
you can join us.

1:00 pm - Rally orientation - Aldergrove Country
Meadows Best Western The Poppy Rally follows on Sunday with a continental
breakfast at the Aldergrove Country Meadows Best
Western and first car out at 9:00 am. An awards
brunch follows the Poppy Rally. Additional
details on the rallies are below. On Saturday, November 10, 2001, a one-day mini-rally will be presented in British Columbia's Fraser Valley followed by an awards buffet. Presented by the BMW Seattle Classic Motor Rally organizers, the Fall Mini-Rally is designed to encourage new rally teams to experience TSD rallying and provided regular participants in the BMW Seattle Classic Motor Rally with an opportunity to improve their rally skills. This also proves to be a great opportunity to introduce a new navigator or driver to vintage rallying. The rally will begin Saturday afternoon and last three hours in duration, to be followed by cocktails and an awards buffet. A 30-minute rally orientation will be provided prior to the start. Teams will assemble in Aldergrove, British Columbia at the Aldergrove Country Meadows Best Western for the orientation and start. Participating teams are allowed to bring sporting motorcars of any vintage due to the possibility of wet weather, however, in 2000 the weather proved excellent. Vintage rally rules will apply. A dinner buffet will follow the rally. The cost per team for the Mini-Rally and buffet will be $85. The Rally concludes back at the Aldergrove Best Western with many participants staying on for the Poppy Rally on Sunday. All proceeds from the Mini-Rally will again benefit the nonprofit College Planning Network, a Pacific Northwest charity, assisting individuals seeking higher education opportunities.http://www.collegeplan.org |

Poppy Rally Re-Joins Fall Mini-Rally for Combined Rally Weekend 2001 CXKJR/CCMGC POPPY RALLY The 8th Annual Poppy Rally, an event sanctioned by Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA), will run over scenic roads in British Columbia's Fraser Valley. Again this year, the Poppy Rally will be held in conjunction with the BMW Seattle Classic Motorcar Rally "Fall 2001 Mini Rally" (also JCNA sanctioned), which will ran on Saturday afternoon, November 10 th and finish at the Aldergrove Best Western with an awards buffet. The cost for the Poppy Rally including the awards lunch is $45. The Poppy Rally will start from the Aldergrove Best Western at 9:00am on Sunday morning, covering a total distance of approx. 100 miles (161 km) and approx. 3 hours duration. The finish will be at the location for the awards lunch. Entrants for the Poppy Rally will be divided into two (2) Classes :- OPEN (previous winners and/or "Add-On" rally
equipment) Overall awards will be given for Driver & Navigator in both Classes and perpetual Jaguar and MG trophies were awarded only to the Highest Placed CXKJR/CCMGC Club Member The Best Western Country Meadows at Aldergrove is confirmed as the base for the Fall Mini/Poppy Rally at a price of $75 CDN + 15% tax. The hotel will again offer a free upgrade to the Jacuzzi Suite as a draw prize for our pre-entries who book into the hotel.
